Próxima parada ... China, El Imperio del Centro

El viaje que acabamos de realizar durante las dos primeras semanas de Julio del 2007 nos ha llevado a China, un país que tiene un significado muy especial en nuestras vidas.

En estas líneas intentaremos explicar nuestras aventuras y desventuras en el país que algún día nos dará a nuestro tesoro oriental.
China es un país que ya ha despertado después de un largo letargo, ahora ruge como un dragón y despliega todas sus maravillas ante los ojos atónitos del mundo.

¿Se puede viajar a China por libre?

Esta pregunta nos la formulamos en varias ocasiones y después de haber estado podemos afirmar que es un país relativamente fácil para viajar por libre. Está todo bien organizado, ordenado y se ofrecen muchas posibilidades para moverse de un lado a otro (avión, autobús, tren, taxi), los alojamientos son de buena calidad y se pueden reservar fácilmente.

¿Qué pasa con el idioma?

El principal problema que se presenta en China es el idioma o mejor dicho la escritura.
Es normal encontrarse en las estaciones de tren y autobuses todo escrito únicamente con carácteres chinos sin atisbo de Pinyin por ningún lado.


Por este motivo es bueno reconocer los nombres de los destinos escritos en Hanzi para poder identificar con mayor facilidad tanto los autobuses como los trenes.

A la hora de comer también se presentan algunas dificultades, son pocos los restaurantes con carta en inglés.


Pero para resolver este inconveniente, nada mejor que utilizar la guía de conversación o en su defecto emplear un par de palabras que son mágicas: mien tiao (fideos) y mi fan (arroz).

La escritura pasa en muchas ocasiones de ser un inconveniente a ser un juego. Para superar la experiencia china nada mejor que ponerle ganas, un poco de mímica, mucho ánimo y buen humor. Con todos estos ingredientes el viaje se puede realizar sin ningún problema.
Hay que reconocer que los chinos siempre están dispuestos a ayudarte y difícilmente te encuentras con una mala cara o un reproche. Tal vez no utilizamos el mismo idioma hablado pero sí empleamos el mismo idioma de gestos que abre muchas puertas y derrumba los muros de la incomunicación.

Dónde hemos estado

Como ya hicimos en nuestra anterior aventura por India, el viaje lo hemos organizado a nuestro aire. Cargamos la mochila con la mayor de las ilusiones y con ganas de conocer El Imperio del Centro, no sólo sus capitales sinó también sus paisajes y áreas rurales.
